Learn to carve, shape and decorate your own novelty cake!

In this class hosted by Janice B’s in Hedge End and taught by our fabulous and experienced tutor, Julie Hancock,  you will  learn how to accurately cut your sponge cake and fill with jam and buttercream, shaping as required, and crumb coating, before moulding the details of the novelty cake in sugar paste,  and covering with sugar paste.  Julie will teach you how to pipe details in buttercream and to accentuate features using colours, sprays and lustres.   You will also learn to make decorative accessories and models in sugar paste.  Throughout the class, Julie will share lots of top tips and insider techniques and will of course answer all your questions.

The class is suitable for beginners and those wishing to perfect techniques –  no experience  is necessary.  It will be a fun and informal class  – creating a fun and unique novelty  cake.  You will learn lots of techniques that can be applied to novelty cakes for any celebration or theme.

We will provide all materials and equipment, including an 8 inch sponge cake, and a board and a box to transport the cake in.
